Mission & History

Darul-Amaanah Academy is a subsidiary of the North American Islamic Foundation, Inc. (NAIF), which was first established as a sole proprietorship in 1988 and later incorporated in the State of Delaware in 1997. On June 23, 2000, NAIF, Inc. proudly received its 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status.

That same year, Darul-Amaanah Academy was founded as a non-profit, state-registered private school (State Code 5665). Since September 1997, we have been dedicated to providing an Islamic-based, academically rigorous education to students in the Wilmington community and beyond.

Darul-Amaanah Academy strives to nurture the whole child intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, and socially within a safe and supportive Islamic environment. Our goal is to lay the foundation for lifelong learning, guiding students to achieve academic excellence while developing strong moral character and a deep connection to their faith.

We view parents and families as essential partners in this journey, working hand-in-hand to ensure that each child develops the knowledge, skills, and values needed to thrive in this world and succeed in the Hereafter.
